Blackmagic Design Showcases New ENG Kit for the URSA Broadcast G2 Camera at NAB NY 2023
An interview from the 2023 NAB Show in New York City with Bob Caniglia at the Blackmagic Design Booth.
The new Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 is an incredibly powerful camera designed for both traditional and online broadcasters. The 3 cameras in 1 design allows it to work as a 4K production camera, a 4K studio camera or a 6K digital film camera! It's a perfect solution for broadcasters because it uses the lenses and batteries you already own! You can record to common SD cards, UHS-II cards, CFast 2.0 cards or external USB disks, using common file formats such as H.265, ProRes and Blackmagic RAW. This means it's compatible with all video software and broadcast media management systems.
The large 6K sensor combined with Blackmagic generation 5 color science gives you the same imaging technology used in digital film cameras. This means broadcasters can now use digital cinema quality in broadcast! The 6K sensor features a resolution of 6144 x 3456 so it's flexible enough for broadcast and digital film work.
Now you can turn your URSA Broadcast into a versatile run-and-gun camera with this URSA Broadcast ENG Kit from Blackmagic Design. The flexible kit provides a body armor for the top of the camera and maintains perfect thermal airflow while protecting the top vents from dust or wet conditions. The rugged ENG handle is an open-ended top handle that makes it easier for you to quickly pick up the camera for instant ENG-style shooting and also adds multiple 3/8"-16 mounting threads to allow you to add accessories to the top or sides of the handle.
A rotating light mount makes it possible for you to attach a light or LED panel to illuminate your scene when you're moving quickly and on the go. A microphone mount allows you to add a shotgun microphone for capturing professional audio, and a side panel cradle is designed to hold hard-to-mount accessories such as portable USB drives, wireless transmitters and receivers, and smartphones being used for live streaming.
