AJA Video Systems Brings 12G Connectivity to IBC 2019
An interview from the 2019 International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam with Bryce Button of AJA Video Systems. Since 1993, AJA Video has been a leading manufacturer of video interface technologies, converters, digital video recording solutions and professional cameras, bringing high quality, cost effective products to the professional broadcast, video and post production markets.
Corvid 44 12G is AJA’s blazingly fast, compact 8-lane PCIe 3.0 I/O card with four bidirectional 12G-SDI HD-BNC connections, designed for today’s most demanding video and audio workflows. Corvid 12G 44 is available in several configurations, including full-height or low-profile, with passive or active cooling.
Whether you are working with HFR 8K/4K/UltraHD, 2K/HD, SD, Deep Color and/or HDR, experience the quality and peace of mind that Corvid 44 12G brings to your projects. Supporting 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, at up to 12-bit color spaces, Corvid 44 12G offers ingest and output over 12G-SDI, which is also backwards compatible with 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, and 1.5G-SDI. The bidirectional 12G-SDI ports provide immense flexibility for capture and simultaneous pass-through for a range of solutions.
KUMO 6464-12G offers increased capacity for larger configurations while maintaining a compact 4RU profile with support for 12G-SDI/6G-SDI/3G-SDI/1.5G-SDI with 64x 12G-SDI inputs and 64x 12G-SDI outputs.
KUMO 12G-SDI routers support large format resolutions, high frame rate (HFR) and deep color formats while reducing cable runs when transporting 4K/UltraHD over a single SDI link. Multi-link gang control also offers routing of up to 8K resolutions. The router offers network-based and physical control using KUMO CP and CP2 and mirrors the physical form of AJA’s production-proven KUMO 6464 router, with a USB port for configuring IP addresses via AJA’s free eMini-Setup software. Built to the same quality standards as all AJA KUMO products, KUMO 6464-12G is the ideal choice for any situation where a balance of size, performance and capacity are critical such as post facilities and mobile trucks.
AJA Video Systems introduced Desktop Software v15.5 for KONA, Io and T-TAP products today at IBC 2019. The free software update features key performance enhancements that provide video professionals with enhanced creative freedom and workflow flexibility across Windows®, Linux® and macOS®, with improvements including full 2SI SMPTE raster support for 8K, RGB support for 8K capture and playback and new HDR Test Patterns in AJA Control Room.
Desktop Software v15.5 boasts full compatibility with macOS Catalina, and new support for Metal on macOS. These enhancements mean increased speed and creative support on Mac laptops and workstations including the new Mac Pro, where KONA 5 with its support for resolutions all the way up to 8K is a sure-fire winning partner.
The IPR-10G2-HDMI & IPR-10G2-SDI Mini-Converters are designed to bridge SMPTE ST 2110 networks to HDMI/SDI, with support up to UltraHD 50p or HD 60p. IPR-10G2 receives SMPTE ST 2110 audio and video over 10 GigE, and then de-encapsulates the data to output baseband HDMI video. Associated audio from the SMPTE ST 2110 stream is likewise extracted, synchronized, and embedded into the HDMI or SDI output. Simultaneously, analog stereo audio is available via the dual RCA outputs.
HDR Image Analyzer 12G delivers a comprehensive array of tools for the effective analysis of the latest 4K/UltraHD HDR standards, over a single cable with 12G-SDI, – including HLG, PQ, Rec.2020 and Rec.709 – from 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD content in a convenient real time 1RU device.
Developed in partnership with Colorfront, AJA HDR Image Analyzer 12G supports a wealth of inputs from camera LOG formats to SDR (REC 709), PQ (ST 2084) and HLG and offers color gamut support for BT.2020 alongside traditional BT.709. AJA hardware prowess ensures high reliability and performance, with 4x 12G-SDI bidirectional I/O, and DisplayPort connections. Specifically designed to be used wherever needed, the 1RU form factor fits into a range of environments, providing the confidence you need for consistent and predictable HDR production and mastering.
