An interview from the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Scott Selby of Eizo. EIZO is a global leader in premium display monitors for a wide variety of industries, including business, medical, graphics, gaming, ATC and more. In this interview Scott talks with us about the new The ColorEdge 31" CG318-4K & 24" CG248-4K Color Management Monitors, as well as their ColorEdge 27" CX271 & 24" CX241 Monitors.

The new ColorEdge CG318-4K monitor displays the DCI 4K standard (4096 x 2160) which is more than four times that of full HD (1920 x 1080). It's ideal for creating, editing, and referencing with 2D and 3D CGI, VFX, compositing, and color grading. Take advantage of it large 31.1" screen, whether you are creating, editing, or checking your work, this screen offers ample space to focus on 4K content. At a dense 149 ppi, it’s suited for not only video but also photo retouching and printing. In compliance with the DCI standard, the contrast ratio is a high 1500:1. This produces true blacks that are otherwise difficult to display on a typical LCD monitor. Even when viewing the screen from an angle in a dimly-lit studio the dark tones retain their depth. Also, you can prioritize a high brightness and contrast ratio over the screen brightness uniformity by pressing a button on the front of the monitor.

The CG248-4K 24" monitor has the highest pixel density yet in their ColorEdge lineup at an astonishing 185 ppi, 4K image display has never been so smooth. Now you can enjoy the exceptional detail in high-resolution photographs that cannot be reproduced with a standard monitor. Alphanumeric characters and contours are also distinguished with excellent sharpness for the printing workflow. The 4K ultra-high-definition (UHD) screen (3840 × 2160) is four times the size of full HD (1920 × 1080), making it ideal for high-resolution photography or as a reference monitor for 4K video creation.

The CX241 ( 24.1" - 1920 × 1200 resolution ) comes with a built-in SelfCorrection sensor that automatically maintains your color settings so you can enjoy its 99% Adobe RGB coverage, brightness uniformity, and other features for creative work.

The CX271 ( 27" - 2560 × 1440 resolution ) offers photographers and designers an abundant 3.7 megapixels across its 27-inch screen. It comes with EIZO’s ColorNavigator calibration software and a built-in SelfCorrection sensor that maintains calibration settings according to your schedule..
