An interview from the 2014 International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam with Andy Bellamy of AJA Video Systems. In this interview Andy debuts the CION, an entirely new professional camera, a first for AJA. CION features an ergonomic design and is capable of shooting at 4K/UltraHD and 2K/HD resolutions. CION enables today’s growing demand for high frame rate support and offers the ability to output 4K raw data at up to 120 fps via 4x 3G-SDI outputs. CION can record directly to AJA Pak SSD media at up to 60 frames per second.
AJA Video Systems is also proud to bring you a brand new video shot on CION in Grass Valley and Nevada City California. Shooting took place over three days during the first week of September 2014. The UltraHD 23.98 fps normal speed shots were acquired in camera as ProRes 4444; the slow motion shots were acquired as ProRes 422 with the camera operating at 59.94fps and files saved in-camera as 23.98fps.
