Mitch Gross, 4K & the Odyssey7Q+

Mitch Gross talks with us about the current & future state of 4K, along with the latest introduction to their Odyssey line of Recorders/Monitors, the Odyssey 7Q+.

Mitch's Thoughts on 4K:

4K is maturing. It had a few pioneers in the 4K arena, but the issue was that they tried to position themselves with “cinema,” but that’s the slowest way into the industry, since there are only so many movies released every year.

Mitch goes on to share “4K really get adopted in the home, on the consumer level.”  And it’s not even all about 4K TV’s, it’s also about 4K tablets, 4K laptops, etc. getting beyond HD quality, and with new delivery systems like Netflix, Vimeo and YouTube the consumers are no longer limited. It allows users to bridge forward with 4K without the growing pains we had to go through back in the day with jumping from SD to HD. The process just flows naturally now, no barriers.

Mitch’s Prediction of 4K in 2015:

There is a slew of more 4K cameras being produced. Expect to see 2 dozen more cameras that can shoot 4K in 2015. Just watch.
