IGI Installs 4K System At White Sands Missile Range
IGI, an experienced leader at the forefront of 4k resolution technology, recently installed a PowerWindow 4K system at the White Sands Missile Range in south central New Mexico. The system, which provides ultra-high resolution and color-accurate rear projection, is being put to use at the site’s Goode Auditorium.

IGI’s cutting edge technology comes as a much needed upgrade for the military installment. According to White Sands Missile Range’s Blake Harris, the newly-installed system is primarily being used for in-house briefings and presentations. While the auditorium’s previous setup had Harris and his colleagues spending valuable time and money on maintaining a six-projector system, the PowerWindow 4K provides superior clarity and brightness with just one, self-contained system.

“A lot of good things have come out of this upgrade for us,” says Harris. “While we used to be overwhelmed with things like alignment, color balance and multiple bulb replacements, the PowerWindow 4K has provided a superior alternative that actually costs us less in time and money.”

According to IGI’s Founder and President Pat Hernandez, the White Sands Missile Range is one of the first in an expected line of new clients.

“We anticipate that IGI’s 4K PowerWindows and PowerWalls will continue to have a role with the government and many branches of the military,” says Pat Hernandez, IGI Founder and President. “In sectors where factors like quality and reliability are of the utmost importance, our technology is becoming essential.”

The IGI PowerWindow is a rear projection display system for applications demanding ultra-high resolution and color-accurate projection. The Sony SXRD® 4K projector is the system’s technology backbone which delivers 4K resolution (4096×2160 native, unblended pixels) for a spectacular image with no visible pixels on the screen. Custom sizes are available ranging from a 9’ wide to a 20’ wide screen.
