iMovie For iOS Will Now Be Able To Handle 4K Videos

It would seem that after Android phones have been offering 4K video recording for quite a while now that Apple has finally introduced the feature to the new iPhones. Granted it won’t be at a buttery smooth 60fps, but we reckon 30fps is still pretty good and for the most part very usable at the end of the day.

Now the good news is that if you were looking forward to capturing and editing your 4K footage on the go, you’re in luck because Apple’s iMovie app for iOS has recently been updated with support for 4K video. This means that if you prefer a native video editing solution that can handle 4K, you won’t have to go very far.

This is opposed to having to seek third-party apps or worse, transferring it to your computer just to make a few minor edits. However we admit that if we wanted more robust editing, transferring your footage to the computer would make more sense, but like we said, the update to the iMovie iOS app will let you make edits quicker in a pinch.

The app has also gained support for the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus’ 3D Touch feature, where users can now start a brand new movie project in iMovie directly from their Home screen. The update is available for download via the iTunes App Store, although it should come bundled with your brand new iPhones as well.
