On December 8th , 2016, Imagecraft Productions became the first rental house in North America to offer the new, RAPTOR prime macro lenses for rental.

Why are these lenses so sought after?

Let’s begin with their ability to keep up with larger format sensors. “The new macro lenses were designed to address the industry-wide movement toward larger format sensors (including RED Weapon 6K and 8K, Sony A7, and ARRI ALEXA 65 cameras). These larger sensors deliver a convincing film-look and interesting bokeh due to their very shallow depth of field, and require lenses that can cover their larger camera sensor sizes.” *1

There are 3 different focal lengths available right now, 100mm, 150mm and 180mm. Each lens features full frame coverage (24mmX36mm), 1:1 magnification, consistent T-stop T2.9, as well as robust and durable cine mechanics.

Imagecraft Owner and President, Jason Been says, “Imagecraft is really excited to add the new RAPTOR lenses to our rental inventory. Aside from the obvious commercial television application, these lenses can help DPs and cinematographers in creating detailed imagery for documentaries all the way to sit down interviews. We really can’t wait to see what our clients do with them”.

These lenses are available for sale exclusively through Band Pro Film and Digital in Burbank California.
